Vice President Venkaiah Naidu has expressed concern over the country’s growing population. Venkaiah Naidu said that in order to stop the population growth, the challenges of development have to be cautious. Political parties and leaders should convince the people in this matter. The Vice President once again mentioned the traditional joint family system of India.
The Vice President said, I am extremely distressed by the reports of abuse and disrespect to the elders. The greater difference in sex ratio will adversely affect the stability of our society. The Vice President called for the creation of a society that is free from all forms of gender discrimination.
PM Modi also gave message on population control

The IAPPD report demanded reservation for women in parliament and legislatures. The Vice President, while bringing everyone’s attention to the issue of population, said that the challenges of development are increasing today due to the rapidly increasing population. Speaking on the report, The Vice President said – We need to recognize the relation between population and development. Quoting the estimates made by experts, it has been said that India’s population will increase to 1.52 billion by 2036.
Venkaiah Naidu said that due to increase in population, today 20 percent people are below poverty line and so many people are uneducated. Talking on this matter, he emphasized on family planning. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing the country on Independence Day last year, said that those whose family is small have also given their support in the development of the country.
