PM Modi to Chair Virtual Investor roundtable Today; Mukesh Ambani, Ratan Tata to attend

In this round table, 20 representatives of the world’s largest pension and sovereign wealth funds, which manage $ 6 trillion, will also participate in the program. There are some of these investors who will join the Government of India for the first time.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi (PM Narendra Modi) will preside over the round table meeting of investors today (VGIR Summit 2020). Today, 20 top investors, and companies from countries like America, Europe, Canada will participate in this meeting to hold through video conferencing at 6 pm.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), this meeting is been organize by the Ministry of Finance and the National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIF). The meeting will include well-known industrialists and businessmen from India.

Businessmen like Mukesh Ambani, Ratan Tata will be involve

Economic Affairs Secretary Tarun Bajaj told that in this meeting Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries, Deepak Parekh of HDFC, Dilip Shanghvi of Sun Pharma, Nandan Nilekani of Infosys, Ratan Tata of Tata Group and Udaya Veteran industrialists like Kotak will join and share their experience.

During this period, India’s economic and investment scenario, structural reforms, and the vision of the government’s $ 5 trillion economies will be discussed. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Minister of State for Finance Anurag Thakur, Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das will also be present in this meeting.

Global giants will include foreign investors

In this round table, 20 representatives of the world’s largest pension and sovereign wealth funds, which manage $ 6 trillion, will also participate in the program. Tarun Bajaj said that the people coming to this round table are leading global institutional investors including the US, Europe, Canada, Korea, Japan, West Asia, Australia, and Singapore. There are some of these investors who will join the Government of India for the first time.
Some of the major funds attending the meeting are Temasek, Australian Super, CDPQ, CPP Investments, GIC, Future Fund, Japan Post Bank, Japan Bank for International Cooperation, Korean Investment Corporation, Ontario Teachers, Teachers Retirement Texas, and Pension Denmark.

The secretary said, “The idea behind this conference is to inform investors about investment opportunities in India, the current economic situation of India, and opportunities for them.” This meeting will provide an opportunity for leading global investors and business leaders of India to engage with senior policymakers of the country and discuss ways to accelerate further international investment in India.
Bajaj said, ‘If they have some concerns about investment, then we will resolve it and try to answer it. We have been talking to these funds for the last five or six months. We have done many things on the basis of interaction with them.
