Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday held a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin amid tension on the border with China. During this time, PM Modi congratulated Russian President Putin for the success of the ceremony held on the 75th anniversary of the victory in World War II and successfully amending the Constitution of Russia.

PM Modi and Russian President Putin also agreed to maintain bilateral contacts and consultations, due to which the annual bilateral summit will be held at the end of this year.

On the night of 15 June, violent skirmishes were also witnessed between the soldiers of India and China in the Galvan Valley of eastern Ladakh.
