New Delhi. In view of the softening of prices in the international market, the government oil companies have cut the price of petrol and diesel for the second consecutive day on Friday. According to Indian Oil, a leading oil marketing company, petrol prices have been reduced from 23 paise to 26 paise and in diesel prices from 35 paise to 37 paise per liter in four major metros of the country. Petrol was cheaper by 14-16 paise and diesel by 19-20 paise on Thursday. In Delhi, petrol prices were reduced by 26 paise to Rs 81.14 per liter and diesel by 35 paise to Rs 72.02 per liter.
In the commercial city of Mumbai, petrol was reduced by 25 paise to Rs 87.82 and diesel by 37 paise to Rs 78.48 per liter. In Kolkata, petrol prices were reduced by 25 paise to Rs 82.67 and diesel by 35 paise to Rs 75.52 per liter. The prices of both fuels in Chennai were Rs 84.21 and Rs 77.73 per liter respectively. Petrol 23 and diesel 33 have become cheaper here.
