Port Moresby. Papua New Guinea, located in the Southwest Pacific Ocean region, has experienced severe earthquake tremors. The US Geological Survey said Saturday that the earthquake on Friday, measuring 123 kilometers from Lae, the capital of Morobe province, measured 5.2 on the Richter scale.
According to the survey, the epicenter of the quake was located at a depth of 5.6076 degrees south latitude and 147.0029 degrees east longitude 136.85 kilometers.
