OPD services were started on 25 June at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) amidst Corona epidemic. Then only 15 such patients were allowed to seek counseling, who have already consulted the doctors of AIIMS. Now AIIMS has also opened the doors of medical consultation to new patients.

According to the news agency PTI, now 30 new patients with AIIMS are already undergoing treatment, and 30 new patients will also be able to seek medical consultation. A letter to this effect was also issued by AIIMS on Monday. In the letter issued by AIIMS, it is said that 30 and 30 new patients who were already consulted in the second phase of starting OPD services will be allowed to seek medical consultation.

It has been said by AIIMS that this decision has been taken in view of the increasing number of patients. Appointments can be booked through online registration system for consultation as well as interactive voice response system. Patients will be screened for influenza before admission to OPD. Only after this, the patient will be given admission in OPD.

AIIMS has also sought a list of doctors from all clinical heads, who will be appointed for physical consultations. The phone numbers of those doctors have also been asked to provide. However, it has also been made clear that no appointment will be booked for the evening specialty clinic.AIIMS had already started OPD service for patients who were seeking medical advice. Along with the patients who were already seeking medical advice, new patients were also being given appointments for OPD, but in a very limited number. AIIMS stopped its OPD services from March 24 to control the corona outbreak for the first time in its history since its inception. This was done to use the available resources against Corona.

Treatment of corona infectives has been underway at AIIMS Trauma Center and NCI Jhajjar for almost three months. After the discontinuation of OPD services, doctors were giving counseling on the phone to the patients who were taking counseling. Earlier, in a letter issued by AIIMS regarding life-saving surgery, it was said that this will happen from March 21.
