IPL 2020: Sourav Ganguly arrives in Dubai to take Stock of Tournament preparations

Dubai: The Cricket Board of India (BCCI) chairman Sourav Ganguly has arrived to take stock of the preparations for the Indian Premier League (IPL) which starts in a biologically safe environment from 19 September. In view of the growing corona virus cases in India, this T20 tournament is being held in the United Arab Emirates, in which the opening match will face the defending champions Mumbai Indians against Chennai Super Kings.

Ganguly posted on his Instagram handle with his photo, ‘My first flight in 6 months would be to go to Dubai for the IPL. Life changes.’ Ganguly was wearing a mask and face shield that flew during the epidemic. Is part of the standard operating procedure.

He will now live in Quarantine for the next 6 days and he is expected to be in the United Arab Emirates till 23 September. It was only after the postponement of the T20 World Cup in Australia that the BCCI succeeded in creating a window for the IPL. If this tournament had not happened, the BCCI would have lost Rs 4000 crore. IPL Chairman Brijesh Patel is among the important officials who have already gone to Dubai.
