Simultaneously, the work of installing air purifiers to purify the polluted air (air purifier) ​​has started in Gurugram on the lines of Delhi. On Wednesday, Chief Minister Manohar Lal launched it digitally. The project name Air Care. Such air purifiers are to installed in the city in FY 2020-21. Project Air Care launched by Chief Minister Manohar Lal in Gurugram on Wednesday is a public-private partnership project between Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) and GSK Consumer Healthcare. Under this, 65 state-of-the-art Vue air purifier units have started in Gurugram at high AQI (Air Quality Index) locations. In the first phase, these air purifiers have installed at places like Sector-44, 45, GMDA Office, Red Light, Sikanderpur Metro Station, Rajiv Chowk, near Huda City Center Metro Station, IFFCO Chowk, etc.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Manohar Lal said that the rising level of air pollution in Haryana, especially in Gurugram, is a matter of serious concern for all of us. Festivals have started. In such a situation, many air purifiers at important places will prove to be a breath of relief for the citizens.

This is how it works

The Wind Augmentation Air Purification Unit (Wei) has designed by Neeri and IIT Bombay. It converts pollution particles such as PM2.5 and PM10 particles, carbon monoxide, and soluble organic materials into carbon dioxide by a filter. Its manufacturers claim that it can reduce PM10 particles by 60 to 70 percent, PM 2.5 particles by 30 to 40 percent at places with traffic. This device uses half a unit of electricity per hour of operation. It can provide pure air to an area of ​​up to 500 sqm.
