EC will conduct by-election between Corona

The Election Commission held a review meeting today, in which it was decided that bye-elections will be held in the Corona period as well. It is believed that the by-election date can be announced tomorrow.

Amid the Corona crisis, the Election Commission has decided to hold Lok Sabha and Assembly by-elections

The Election Commission held a review meeting today, in which it was decided that bye-elections will be held in the Corona period as well. It is believed that the by-election date can be announced tomorrow.


Significantly, preparations have been made to hold one Lok Sabha seat and 56 assembly seats. Out of total 230 assembly seats in Madhya Pradesh, 27 seats are vacant. Of these, two seats are vacant due to the demise of MLAs while 25 MLAs resigned. Election has been postponed to Agar assembly seat.


Before the Rajya Sabha elections in Gujarat, 8 Congress MLAs joined the BJP by resigning from the party. Due to this, the assembly seats of Abadasa, Morbi, Dhari, Limbdi, Gadhada, Kaprada, Karjan and Dang are vacant. In Jharkhand, two assembly seats Dumka and Bermo are vacant, where by-elections are to be held.

Baroda assembly seat in Sonipat district of Haryana is vacant

This seat is vacant due to the death of Congress party MLA Shri Krishna Hooda. Similarly, Marwahi seat of Chhattisgarh is also vacant, which has become vacant after the death of Janata Congress MLA and former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi.

Uttar Pradesh has four assembly seats vacant


Uttar Pradesh has four assembly seats vacant, including Tundla, Bangarmau, Rampur’s Swar and Bulandshahr seats. However, the Election Commission has postponed the by-elections in Tundla and Bulandshahr seats. By-elections for the remaining two seats can be announced tomorrow.

Four assembly seats are vacant in West Bengal


Four assembly seats are vacant in West Bengal. Two assembly seats are vacant in Odisha. The 11 assembly seats in Manipur have been vacant for a long time, where Congress MLAs left the party and joined BJP. Apart from this, one seat of Puducherry is also vacant.

Karnataka also has two seats vacant


Karnataka also has two seats vacant, but due to the matter in court, by-elections have not been held yet. By-elections in the remaining seats can be announced tomorrow.
