Denmark Open 2020: Antonsen, Okuhara claim BWF title wins

Odense. Second-seeded Japan’s Nozomi Okuhara and third seed Denmark’s Anders Antonson won the women’s and men’s singles titles respectively in the Denmark Open badminton tournament on Sunday. Okuhara defeated the third seed Spain’s Carolina Marin 21–19 21–17 in consecutive games to win the women’s singles title. Okuhara won the match in 56 minutes.

It was the 16th career match between the world number four Japanese player and the number six Spaniard, and Okuhara has a record 8-8 with this win. In the final of the men’s category, Antanson defeated seventh seed compatriot Rasmus Gameke 18-21 21-19 21-12 in an hour and 14 minutes to win the title. Antonson’s fourth win in four matches against Gameke in his career.
