The government of Sikkim has decided to reopen schools in the state in a phased manner from 19 October. An official gave this information. Bhim Thatal, the nodal officer of Public Relations and Publicity Unit of the Education Department, said on Thursday that there will be no winter holidays this year, classes will take six days a week and Saturday will be a half-day holiday. However, notified government holidays will be granted.

He informed that the current academic session will conclude on 13 February 2021. The next session will begin two days later from 15 February. The state education department has prepared a calendar.
According to which students of 11th and 12th will be able to come to school from October 19 with written permission from their parents. He said that there would be no compulsion to come to school.
Similarly, classes six to eight will be held from November 2, third, fourth and fifth will be started from November 23.
