Along with this, upgrade of 59 MiG-29 fighter aircraft has also been approved.
MiG-29 fighter jets will be purchased from Russia. In addition, the existing MiG-21 fighter aircraft will also be upgraded. About 7 thousand 418 crore rupees will be spent on this. At the same time, SU-30 MKI fighter aircraft will be purchased from HAL, which will cost 10 thousand 730 crore rupees.
The Defense Acquisition Council has Approved The Purchase of 38 Thousand 900 Crores in Total

Of this, 31 thousand 130 crore rupees will be acquired from Indian industry. Defense equipment will be made in India in collaboration with the Indian defense industry. MSME will also participate in it.
