17 killed, 30 injured in bus-train Collision in central Thailand

Bangkok (Agency). At least 17 people were killed and 30 others injured when a bus collided with a freight train in Bang Toi, the capital of Thailand’s Chachoengsao Province. Chief District Officer Prathung Yukasem told here that when a tourist bus was crossing the rail crossing in the Bang Toi area, a goods train suddenly came and left the bus trampling. In this accident, 17 people died on the spot, and 30 others were injured. There were 65 people on the bus.

Rescue and relief team personnel have admitted the injured to nearby hospitals. “The occupants of the bus were going from Samut Prakan province to a temple on the outskirts of Chachoengsao,” the official said. Meanwhile, a bus collided at the railway crossing from Lem Chabang port in Chonburi province to Lahti Karabang here. The bus overturned after the collision, killing at least 17 people on the spot. He informed me that the matter will be investigated.
